Garage Sales

I was never much of a garage sale person, but now with Courtney growing out of her clothes so fast it seems to be the only way to go. I went out during City Garage sale days and got quite a bit of clothes. Here are all of the goodies I found.

Productive day at Archivers

A few of my coworkers are getting together on a Friday evening once a month at Archivers to do some scrapbooking. I'm pretty excited as they have some cool toys that I haven't had much experience with. They were working on cards this month so they didn't bring any with, but maybe next month! Here is what I accomplished!

Cork Bulletin board

2 years ago, I got a bulletin board frame for Christmas. Well after 2 long years of collecting corks, and my friends and coworkers collecting corks, I finally finished it!

My first cake

For my birthday, Lucy gave me some wonderful cake decorating supplies. So for my first cake I made........ myself a birthday cake! It was also the day of my 'thirty-one' shopping party so it was a dual purpose cake.

As you can see, I started simple and was just trying to get the hang of using the bag. I should have asked Becky for a tutorial on how to get the frosting into the bag! Wow, did I make a mess :) I also monogrammed some of the cupcakes in 'thirty-one' shopping style. Not bad for my first one!

Scrapbooking

So, I have delved back into the world of scrapbooking. I was picking up a few adhesives at Archivers and little did I know that April is National Scrapbooking month. Luckily I happened to have Friday off so it was only mildly insane in there. They had some make and take projects and since it was the last weekend of national scrapbooking month, there were 3 projects. I completed all 3 and had a marvelous time doing so.

Then later that night I went to scrap mania at the same location. It was a bit intimidating as there were people there with enough scrapbooking tools to fill my largest suitcase! I went by myself so I sat at a table with 3 other fabulous ladies and they made me feel right at home. The employees were great and overall I had a wonderful time! I think that I am going to try and do this monthly. They also have die cuts that you can use at no cost... that is very nice for a beginner like me :)

My first card making class

I recently went to a card making class. It was really fun! The good thing about this class was that it removed the most difficult part of card making- the creativity. I went to the location and she had 6 card stations set up with a display. She had all of the stamps and ink right there. Here is the collection of cards that we made.
The women there were really fun and I actually had met two of them on the bus when I used to ride to school. Small world.
