Making baby food

Since Courtney was doing so well with her rice cereal, we are slowly introducing other types of food. So has begun the making of the baby food! Here is my first batch of baby food; sweet potatoes. Thanks for the baby food book Becky!

Baked (or microwaved) sweet potato.

Scooped out the insides.....
Into the blender we go! Courtney did NOT
like that noise.

Add a bit of water and presto.... baby food!

Into the ice cube trays....

And into the freezer!

Then into her mouth! This is the container after she got done eating.
She loved them!We have also tried squash which she liked. Bananas were not as popular. On Saturday we get to try pears!

And our cheapy "ice cube" makers and bowl! I loved that bowl. It didn't make it to the dishwasher often!

Yummy! It's so easy to make your own baby food, isn't it? Kind of makes me wonder why so many people buy it.

My MIL often gave our kids a really soupy rice - just make regular rice, but add a bunch more water.

Well, actually, my kids still like it if she puts this disgusting shredded, dried, sweetened pork on it.
